Super Furry Animals 'Hey Venus' gets US releaseSuper Furry Animals have announced the US release of their eighth studio album 'Hey Venus'.
The album will be released digitally and on vinyl on August 28, while the CD release of the album will hit stores January 22 2008.
The CD release will coincide with Gruff Rhys and co's North American tour, details of which will be announced shortly.
Recorded at Miraval Studios in France and Rockfield Studios in Wales, 'Hey Venus' was produced by David Newfeld (Broken Social Scene) and mixed by the band themselves and Chris Shaw. The band enlisted the services of the High Llamas Sean O'Hagan to arrange strings on the record. Soul singer found dead
Soul singer Tony Thompson was found dead yesterday (June 1).
The Hi-Five lead singer died in his hometown of Waco, Texas.
Thompson's body was found outside of an apartment complex around 10:00 pm.
He allegedly died of drug overdose, but the cause of death has to be confirmed.
Thompson and Hi-Five had a UK Number One in 1990 with 'I Like The Way (The Kissing Game)'.
Hi-Five broke up around 1994 but reunited and released a new album 'The Return' in 2006 on Thompson's record label N'Depth.
He was working on material for a solo album, reports Allhiphop.
